Keystone Utility Systems has recently completed the contract to install the new AMI water system for Maumee, Ohio. The City of Maumee has chosen to use Mueller Systems MiNet mesh network system. In addition to installing over 6200 water meters, KUS was contracted for the installation of the MiNet infrastructure. The infrastructure for The City of Maumee consists of 8 collectors and nearly 150 repeaters placed strategically throughout the city. This allows for accurate reading and reporting of the city’s water meter data even in the event of a collector power issue.
The AMI system upgrade involved the installation of commercial and residential meters ranging in size from 5/8″ to 12″ has been successfully completed as of December 2013. The Mueller MiNet system is a state of the art mesh network AMI system with true 2 way communication. The customers willsoon have a customer portal, provided by Mueller and The City of Maumee, which will allow them to track their usage and manage their water consumption.
